Work & Travel, Internship and Research Project opportunities

Guest Experiences

Are you looking for a life changing experience by living in the remote wilderness of British Columbias mountains? Are you looking for an opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge by doing something impactful?

We are Chilcotin Holidays and the Chilcotin Ark Institute and we facilitate conservation trips into Canada’s wilderness which get everyone actively involved in hands-on conservation projects while reconnecting to nature and themselves. This also applies to all of our staff members, whether they join us for a university internship, as part of their work and travel experience or as a volunteer.

We offer hands-on experiences and training in a variety of fields:

Hands On Opportunities

All experiences provide our staff with the unique opportunity to develop and grow professionally and personally by gaining hands-on work experience and taking responsibility. But even more important, everyone has the opportunity to connect with nature and experience the rugged wilderness of Canada. They will experience adventures of a life time. As everything we do is centred around conservation and stewardship of the Chilcotin Ark, everyone is involved in looking after the environment they are benefiting from and in leaving a positive impact.

Ready to take responsibility and embark on a new adventure in Canada’s Wilderness?

This is the perfect opportunity to develop personally and professionally, reconnect to nature and play a part in meaningful conservation projects. Share the following experiences and trainings in your current opening newsletter, work placement page, student web, job-portal or blackboard and share our Wilderness Readiness Survey to empower others in taking the next step

Everyone who joins us embarks on a journey of personal development, nature connection and nature conservtaion
We have an international team in the our community. If you need to get a visa to join us, there are lots of options and we can direct you to the right one depending on your reason for joining us:

  • Working Holiday visa – Open work permit giving you the flexibility to work and travel at the same time.
  • Co-op visa through International Experience Canada – for those currently enrolled in university.
  • Young Professional visa – for those with some degree of qualification in their field (requirements vary by job), designed to help you gain experience with your first job in Canada.
  • Employer Specific visa – closed work permit when you are coming to Canada for a specific job. This requires us to get a valid LMIA which can take a long time.

All of these visa options can help you secure Permanent Residence in Canada. To find out if you are eligible for any of these visas, take a look at the Government of Canada website. The pools for the International Experience Canada visa are open, so be quick to secure your spot!
