With valleys such as: Slim Valley, Taylor Basin, Lone Goat Valley, Hurley Pass, Noel and Cadwallader Valleys, your snowmobile vacation is filled with the bounty of nature exploration. The Chilcotin Mountains offers some of the most amazing scenic views and almost, always a bright blue sky, just waiting for guests to explore. The average temperature for snowmobiling is -10°C Snowmobiling vacations offer the best mountain riding opportunities available to make your vacation memorable. And, in the Chilcotin Mountains, there is less risk of a snowmobile avalanche than the Rockies.

Snowmobile guests can experience real western charm with our main snowmobile lodge and private log chalets. Even branching out to stay in one of the mountain cabins for the more advanced riders, is a great way to enjoy your wilderness adventure. If you vacation at the lodge or in our chalets, everything will be taken care of. In the chalets you have the option to cook for yourself, but you can enjoy three square meals a day at the ranch house, ensuring you are fueled up to snowmobile in the Chilcotin Mountains. Our snowmobile vacations keep the fires going and ensure delicious meals after a long adventurous day of snowmobiling. With all day outings, we pack what’s needed to keep us on the trails, to maximize the experience.

Solid lakes of thick ice, and pristine valleys, contribute to low-risk conditions for everyone to enjoy. The soft white snow covered ground that snowmobiling guests love to explore, is all waiting for guests to come experience their wintery pleasures. Wilderness Trails encourages all skill levels to come take part in our vacations, from guests who haven’t ridden a day in their life, to the master of snowmobiling; it’s an enjoyable fun filled sport for every age. You can bring your own snowmobile or rent one from the city for your 4-day or 7-day snowmobile vacation.

The focus up here is on safety and enjoying ourselves, so we emphasize this with our snowmobile vacation guests to prevent any issues, and so that all our guests feel comfortable. We go through extensive orientations covering safety, trails, and the surrounding areas, as we want you to have the best, and safest, time possible in the snowy seasons in the Chilcotin Mountains. Guests not only enjoy this wintery paradise, they also enjoy the richness of this season’s incredible relationship with nature; from its sleeping flora and winter savvy fauna, curious animals that see us ride by. Nature like this, is nature in its best form. We do our best to not disturb wildlife and the ecosystem, balancing this winter wonderland, with sustainable use, while taking it in and enjoying it. Warm campfires, beautiful mountain paths, delicious food and wondrous views of our wilderness and wildlife in the Chilcotin Mountains, will make any guest look forward to their adventures with these Wilderness Trails Wilderness and Nature Vacations.

All snowmobile trips are customized and everything is decided by you based on our available choices. You have the option of going with or without a guide. Should you decide to have a guide accompany you, here is a sample itinerary.

Day one: Arrive at the ranch at midday and have lunch. Have an introductory ride along the trails surrounding the ranch. Return to the ranch for dinner and have a map orientation with your guides before spending the night in ranch accommodations.

Day two: After breakfast, snowmobile through gorgeous mountain trails. Return to the ranch for lunch and spend the afternoon exploring new mountain trails. Return to the ranch for dinner and then gather around the campfire before retiring to bed.

Days three to six: Ride out for a full day for a mountain exploration deep into the backcountry after breakfast at the ranch. Lunch will be eaten on the mountains. Continue riding past evergreens and icy blue rivers before returning to the ranch for dinner. You may do some star-gazing before you retire to bed.

Day seven: After breakfast you will ride around your preferred trail for half a day. Return to the ranch for a farewell lunch and depart.

There are three different snowmobiling levels:

Level 1: Explore Nature (For beginners and ideal for families).

Level 2: Experience Wilderness (For confident beginners, double riders and couple, and intermediate riders).

Level 3: Challenge Backcountry (For strong physical riders and repeat guests).

Please note that we stick as much as possible to the itinerary and to the trip you have planned with our assistance, but changes in weather and circumstances may cause us to adjust the schedules to what we see fit.
