Verse 1
I’ve been carrying old stories
In my body, in my bones
Learning how to keep the peace
Even when I felt alone
Heart would race, I’d go silent
Try to make it through the night
Saying yes when I meant no
Just to keep things feeling right

Chorus
Dropping the baggage, I’m finally free
No more old patterns defining me
I stand in my power, steady and true
This is my life, I choose what I do

Verse 2
Partners showed me clearly
There was more than I could see
Not just work and understanding
But a place where I could be
Part of something real and grounded
Where connection had a name
And responsibility was calling
Not from pressure, but from claim

Chorus
Dropping the baggage, I’m finally free
No more old patterns defining me
I stand in my power, steady and true
This is my life, I choose what I do

Verse 3
I spoke truth I’d always buried
Let the past come into light
Not for pity, not for saving
But to finally stop the fight
All the ways I learned to freeze up
All the ways I played it small
Now I’m learning I can choose me
I don’t have to lose it all

Chorus
Dropping the baggage, I’m finally free
No more old patterns defining me
I stand in my power, steady and true
This is my life, I choose what I do

Verse 4
Now my body feels it changing
I can breathe and I feel light
Not the weight in every moment
Not the constant inner fight
What once built up and overflowed
Now I meet it as it comes
No more stacking all the pressure
I can face it, I don’t run

Chorus
Dropping the baggage, I’m finally free
No more old patterns defining me
I stand in my power, steady and true
This is my life, I choose what I do

Bridge
Now I speak before I shatter
Now I reach instead of run
I can stand inside my center
I don’t disappear for anyone
I am building my belonging
I am choosing how I live
From protection into presence
From just taking into give

Chorus
Dropping the baggage, I’m finally free
No more old patterns defining me
I stand in my power, steady and true
This is my life, I choose what I do

Verse 5
Now I’m moving forward with intention
Building trust in how I show
Setting boundaries, clear and steady
Letting people truly know
I’m not waiting to be chosen
I am choosing where I stand
Creating space for real connection
Building something that can last

Chorus
Dropping the baggage, I’m finally free
No more old patterns defining me
I stand in my power, steady and true
This is my life, I choose what I do

Verse 1
I used to think I had to be tough to survive,
That I needed the pain just to feel alive,
Now I know how strong I am beyond old fear,
Not just muscles, not because I didn’t shed a tear.

Chorus
I took control of my own life,
And learned to calm the inner strife.
I found Female Power and true worth inside,
No more running, no need to hide.

Verse 2
Before I hid from mirror’s stare,
Too ashamed to see what lay there,
Hiding my body’s shape and flaws,
From myself and all behind closed doors.

Chorus
I took control of my own life,
And learned to calm the inner strife.
I found Female Power and true worth inside,
No more running, no need to hide.

Verse 3
Now my body’s carried new life inside,
I saw my strength as a mother with baby beside,
I’ve seen what Female Power can really do,
My true self and skills shining through.

Chorus
I took control of my own life,
And learned to calm the inner strife.
I found Female Power and true worth inside,
No more running, no need to hide.

I took control, yeah, I took control

Verse 1
I wore my strength like weathered leather
Kept every door locked from inside
I learned to carry every burden
And call the loneliness my pride
When fear came knocking, I went quiet
Held my breath and made it through
But the life that taught me how to survive
Can’t teach me how to choose
Chorus
I’m somewhere between who I’ve been
And the new life I’m choosing to begin
Learning that life is more than surviving
Through trust and connection, I’m finally thriving
Verse 2
The person I was no longer fits me
But I don’t know who comes next
Without a crisis to keep fighting
I feel uncertain and misplaced
I know I can’t return to living
Like every day is something to endure
So I’m letting go of my old identity
Before the new one feels secure
Chorus
I’m somewhere between who I’ve been
And the new life I’m choosing to begin
Learning that life is more than surviving
Through trust and connection, I’m finally thriving

Verse 3
My new identity is built on trust
On letting people stand with me
I can ask for help and still be strong
I can connect and still be free
I choose relationships that feel safe
Where I am heard and I can grow
I don’t lose myself by letting people in
I become more of who I know
Chorus
I’m somewhere between who I’ve been
And the new life I’m choosing to begin
Learning that life is more than surviving
Through trust and connection, I’m finally thriving

Verse 4:
Still some days the old voice rises in me
Saying, “You’re safer on your own”
It tells me needing means I’m weaker
And trusting leads to letting go
But I can hear another whisper
Gentle, steady, breaking through
“You can take your time, set the distance
Let connection come to you”
Chorus
I’m somewhere between who I’ve been
And the new life I’m choosing to begin
Learning that life is more than surviving
Through trust and connection, I’m finally thriving

Verse 5
I survived by standing on my own
Now I choose who stands with me
I’m learning strength can mean connection
And trust can help me breathe
The old voice may still try to guide me
But it no longer owns my truth
I’m leaving survival behind me
And choosing who I want to be

Chorus
I’m somewhere between who I’ve been
And the new life I’m choosing to begin
Learning that life is more than surviving
Through trust and connection, I’m finally thriving

Chorus
I think of all the people I’ve been since I was you,
And while it might sound crass, I have to say it’s true,
That I like me now, much better than I did when I was you,
With a little perspective, I’ve gained a better point of view.

Verse 1
At sixteen, things started to change, I never knew that I was lost,
But I raged inside and vowed I had to get out whatever the cost,
Counting down the days till school was out and I could fly away,
I thought things would get better, if I could only get out the Bay.

Verse 2
So university came and I packed my bags for my new home,
I sat alone in my new room and still felt trapped in the dome,
Same old patterns, cycles spiralling ever down,
I learned my problems weren’t caused by the town.

Chorus
I think of all the people I’ve been since I was you,
And while it might sound crass, I have to say it’s true,
That I like me now, much better than I did when I was you,
With a little perspective, I’ve gained a better point of view.

Verse 3
Three years later, trying to get better and graduation came,
But deep down I was still the same and I only had me to blame,
Back to my parents’ house, a place I thought I’d never return,
And planned my escape to the mountains, my heart yearned.

Verse 4
At last on ranch soil, but I held tight to what I knew,
It was time to choose my own path, but I didn’t have a clue,
A season in the wilderness just trying to survive,
Making fires, learning the ropes, finding my voice to thrive.

Chorus
I think of all the people I’ve been since I was you,
And while it might sound crass, I have to say it’s true,
That I like me now, much better than I did when I was you,
With a little perspective, I’ve gained a better point of view.

Verse 5
A new season and at last I could keep my head above water,
Finding my role, making my place as I oughta,
Logging, hunt guiding, hay making all became,
Something I could do, after which I was never the same.
Verse 6
Then came the lead mare horses who changed my perception,
The books written to share the wisdom, acts of creation,
At home in the wilderness where once I walked like a fool,
Now I walk with purpose, whatever the challenge, I answer the call.

Chorus
I think of all the people I’ve been since I was you,
And while it might sound crass, I have to say it’s true,
That I like me now, much better than I did when I was you,
With a little perspective, I’ve gained a better point of view.

Verse 7
I think about who I was when I was you,
And I realized there was a time when I missed you,
Security in the known and all I’d been before,
But at the breaking of the dawn, I don’t miss you anymore.

Outro
I think of all the people I’ve been since I was you,
And I like me now, much better than I did when I was you.

Verse 1
I’m standing tall, my spirit unbound,
Clarity strikes like a heartbeat’s sound.
Ideas take flight, my purpose is clear,
This is my season-no room for fear.

Chorus
I’m at my peak, my female power glows,
Strength in my voice, and courage that grows.
I lead, I rise, I trust my own flow,
This is my fire, watch me glow, glow, glow!

Verse 2
Connections spark, my light draws them near,
Collaboration, no challenge too severe.
I speak my truth, I own every word,
The world hears the message my heart has heard.

Chorus
I’m at my peak, my female power glows,
Strength in my voice, and courage that grows.
I lead, I rise, I trust my own flow,
This is my fire, watch me glow, glow, glow!

Bridge
Every step forward, every bold choice,
I honor my body, I amplify my voice.
Generations of wisdom roar through my veins,
Female power’s legacy, it’s mine to reclaim.

Chorus
I’m at my peak, my female power glows,
Strength in my voice, and courage that grows.
I lead, I rise, I trust my own flow,
This is my fire, watch me glow, glow, glow!

Outro
This radiant phase, I’m fully alive,
In my female power, I thrive and thrive.

Verse 1
She said, “Dear daughter, come on in,
This talk is where we begin,
Let’s talk of Leed Mares and Wildheart Women, Female Power,
Of living and learning, leaders and mentors.”

Chorus
She said “Dear daughter, bend, don’t break,
We both know you’ve got what it takes,
You’ll feel the fear some days,
But you’ll do it anyway,
Just because you’re a Leed Mare,
Don’t mean you won’t have your share,
Of ups and downs, mountain highs and valley lows,
But you’ll have the strength to let it go.”

Verse 2
You’ll learn when to stand your ground,
Trust that what’s lost will someday be found,
Get right back in the saddle when you fall,
You’re a cowgirl with a Wildheart Woman soul.

Chorus
She said “Dear daughter, bend, don’t break,
We both know you’ve got what it takes,
You’ll feel the fear some days,
But you’ll do it anyway,
Just because you’re a Leed Mare,
Don’t mean you won’t have your share,
Of ups and downs, mountain highs and valley lows,
But you’ll have the strength to let it go.”

Verse 3
Don’t think you have to be perfect right away,
When you learn something, share it today,
You’re a mentor and a student all life long,
Whatever you do, you’ll do it strong.

Chorus
She said “Dear daughter, bend, don’t break,
We both know you’ve got what it takes,
You’ll feel the fear some days,
But you’ll do it anyway,
Just because you’re a Leed Mare,
Don’t mean you won’t have your share,
Of ups and downs, mountain highs and valley lows,
But you’ll have the strength to let it go.”

Dear daughter, bend don’t break,
We both know you’ve got what it takes,
You’ll feel the fear some days,
But you’ll do it anyway.

Verse 1
Three of us walking, no one out in front,
No one behind, no one bearing the brunt.
Three Partners who decided long ago
To build something steady, something that would grow.
You could put your trust in the two beside you
That’s a foundation nothing can undo.

Chorus
One for all, and all for one,
Three hearts moving until the work is done.
Nobody’s above, nobody’s behind,
Just three souls that make up one mind.
When the going gets tough, only the tough keep going
That’s the promise that keeps on growing.

Verse 2
It’s not about who gives the most,
Not about keeping any kind of score.
It’s choosing each other, day after day,
Building trust in a quieter way.
Character you can bank on, values that hold,
A kind of wealth that’s better than gold.

Chorus
One for all, and all for one,
Three hearts moving until the work is done.
Nobody’s above, nobody’s behind,
Just three souls that make up one mind.
When the going gets tough, only the tough keep going
That’s the promise that keeps on growing.

Verse 3
Honesty first, even when it’s hard to say,
That’s the kind of commitment that doesn’t fade away.
Three different voices, one common ground,
Stronger together, better for the sound.
It’s not about the ease, it’s about the choice,
Three people, standing together, with one voice.

Bridge
No blood makes us family, no title, no name,
Just showing up over and over again.
Equals in the hard days, equals in the light,
Standing together, getting the balance right.

Chorus
One for all, and all for one,
Three hearts moving until the work is done.
Side by side, never behind,
Three souls that made up one mind.
When the going gets tough, only the tough keep going
Together, forever, all for one.

Verse 1

You lived your life like a terrified kid,
Too scared to be a woman in a man’s world,
Too scared to live and too scared to die,
Those tales you told yourself, till the lie became the truth.

Chorus

Dear former self, it’s time that you were gone,
It’s time I’m moving on,
Stop holding space inside my head,
You’re not welcome here no more.

Verse 2

I cast you out, I closed the door,
I found my wings to fly, you can’t hold me down,
But someone’s throwing stones at the window of my mind,
I look out and it’s you, it’s you, begging to be let in.

Chorus

Dear former self, it’s time that you were gone,
It’s time I’m moving on,
Stop holding space inside my head,
You’re not welcome here no more.

Verse 3

This new life I’m living, there’s no room for you in it,
So pack your bags, this time I mean it,
I’m breaking free, I’m rising strong,
Lead like a lead mare, love like I’ll never lose.

Chorus

Dear former self, it’s time that you were gone,
It’s time I’m moving on,
Stop holding space inside my head,
You’re not welcome here no more.

Bridge

You thought you could beat me, you thought you could overcome me,
Bring me to my knees, bow my head, make me weak,
Don’t you tell a beautiful lie?
But never again, you can’t control me.

Chorus

Dear former self, it’s time that you were gone,
It’s time I’m moving on,
Stop holding space inside my head,
You’re not welcome here no more.

Verse 1
There was a time I chased the feeling
In the way they looked at me
Measured worth in their attention
In who they let me be

Verse 2
I was living for the look in someone else’s eyes
Trading pieces of myself just to feel alive
Every spark was borrowed, every high would fade
Left me in the silence of the mess it made

Chorus
Higher than the high I found
Now my feet are on the ground
Every step, I redefine
What it means to feel alive

Verse 3
I was tired of the hunger, tired of the game
Tired of shrinking just to fit a borrowed name
Every time I gave myself, I lost integrity
Now I see the truth in what I couldn’t see

Verse 4
Now I’m walking up the mountain
Legs burning, breath like fire
Mind is screaming “you should turn back”
Still I’m climbing higher

Chorus
Higher than the high I found
Now my feet are on the ground
Every step, I redefine
What it means to feel alive

Verse 5
At the top it’s still and steady
No applause, no spotlight glow
Just the truth inside my chest
I did this on my own
Verse 6

This is what it feels like to be free
Not a moment, a reality
Not a spark that fades away
But a fire that’s here to stay

Chorus
Higher than the high I found
Now my feet are on the ground
Every step, I redefine
What it means to feel alive

Verse 7
It’s not a spike, it’s something deeper
Not a rush that disappears
It’s the trust I’ve built within me
Facing down my fears
I don’t need to be desired
To believe in who I am

Chorus
Higher than the high I found
Now my feet are on the ground
Every step, I redefine
What it means to feel alive

Verse 1
I kept the door half open, kept my voice down low,
Every conversation surface, nowhere deep to go,
Told myself the story, no one wants this much of me,
So I built the walls myself, and called it being free.

Chorus
Now I’m redefining belonging,
Foundation and character, steady and strong,
It’s my true self that they’re wanting,
And that’s why I finally belong.

Verse 2
Then my partners looked at me and said, “We’re already here,
This ain’t just a superficial interaction, we’re family, clear,
Foundation’s been beneath us, been standing all along,
You don’t have to earn your seat, you already belong.”

Chorus
Now I’m redefining belonging,
Foundation and character, steady and strong,
It’s my true self that they’re wanting,
And that’s why I finally belong.

Verse 3
I didn’t know how deep the independence runs,
But right there with water, shelter, sun,
Belonging’s not a want, it’s a need I denied,
Somewhere on that ladder I was starving inside.

Chorus
Now I’m redefining belonging,
Foundation and character, steady and strong,
It’s my true self that they’re wanting,
And that’s why I finally belong.

Verse 4
When I feel I belong, something settles in my chest,
My mind stops keeping score, my nervous system rests,
Creativity opens up, my capacity expands,
But when I don’t belong, I shrink, I hide, I can’t take a stand.

Chorus
Now I’m redefining belonging,
Foundation and character, steady and strong,
It’s my true self that they’re wanting,
And that’s why I finally belong.

Verse 5
Now I know, Belonging isn’t given, it’s built with trust and time,
The courage to be visible, to let the walls unwind,
A circle built on honesty, a family we didn’t plan,
But found in each other something that no bloodline ever can.

Chorus
Now I’m redefining belonging,
Foundation and character, steady and strong,
It’s my true self that they’re wanting,
And that’s why I finally belong.

Outro
I used to think that no one wanted more than surface deep,
Now I know the ones who stay are the ones I get to keep,
I didn’t lose myself to belong here,
I found myself — and that’s how I belong.
