Verse 1
Out on the logging site in winter snow,
Fire it up and watch is go,
The skidder pulls the logs out fast,
Landing stocked with each pass.

Chorus
Old 518 skidder, rattle and roll,
Hard work takes its toll,
Two broken axles but still it goes,
Built to be tough, through mud and snow.

Verse 2
Hay truck comes, horses’ feed is in,
Time to move it to where they can’t get in,
Skidder with the bale fork gets the job done,
Lifts ‘em easy, each one weighs a ton.

Chorus
Old 518 skidder, rattle and roll,
Hard work takes its toll,
Two broken axles but still it goes,
Built to be tough, through mud and snow.

Verse 3
Winter’s here with heavy chains on,
The skidder’s still ready to run,
Driveway to plow, road to clear,
Everything’s easier with the skidder here.

Chorus
Old 518 skidder, rattle and roll,
Hard work takes its toll,
Two broken axles but still it goes,
Built to be tough, through mud and snow.

Verse 4
Truck pulls up, old containers are here,
With the skidder, our plan is clear,
Pull and push, it moves them in,
Lines them up, the work can begin.

Chorus
Old 518 skidder, rattle and roll,
Hard work takes its toll,
Two broken axles but still it goes,
Built to be tough, through mud and snow.

Verse 1
Hauling horses over muddy, icy roads,
No road too bumpy for its heavy loads,
Five horses full, come rain or snow,
On the roughest roads, where we go, it goes.

Chorus
Hook this trailer up and load the horses in,
Wild bush road journey is ready to begin,
It might not be pretty, it might not be fast,
But we know it was built to last.

Verse 2
This trailer’s solid steel, no aluminum,
Weld it up when we’ve got a problem,
We can fix a broken axle with a tow chain,
Hooked from axle to tongue, and no pain.

Chorus
Hook this trailer up and load the horses in,
Wild bush road journey is ready to begin,
It might not be pretty, it might not be fast,
But we know it was built to last.

Verse 3
One day we cut off the back end and re-welded the door,
Now we drive the tractor in and park it on the floor,
Hauling a tractor, just another trip down the trail,
Whatever the challenge, this trailer will never fail.

Chorus
Hook this trailer up and load the horses in,
Wild bush road journey is ready to begin,
It might not be pretty, it might not be fast,
But we know it was built to last.

Verse 1
Bulldozer out on the logging site,
Old iron rumbling morning till night,
Skidding big loads to the landing hard,
Chain ‘em tight, the winch brake doesn’t work.

Chorus
Take the old D6 when there’s a job to do,
Solid tracks, powering through,
It’s diesel and gears, it’s rollers and oil,
No matter the problem, we fix it all.

Verse 2
Winter’s coming, time to get firewood in,
Bulldozer drags them up to buck and limb,
Seven or eight logs at a time, can’t stop the Cat,
Keep it simple, that’s where it’s at.

Chorus
Take the old D6 when there’s a job to do,
Solid tracks, powering through,
It’s diesel and gears, it’s rollers and oil,
No matter the problem, we fix it all.

Verse 3
Snow piles deep, no way out the driveway,
Until the Cat rumbles out to save the day,
Plowing goes easy with a 10 foot blade,
Once quick job and the driveway’s made.

Chorus
Take the old D6 when there’s a job to do,
Solid tracks, powering through,
It’s diesel and gears, it’s rollers and oil,
No matter the problem, we fix it all.

Verse 4
If you need a road, the Cat can do it,
A flat spot for a cabin, a perfect fit,
Pushing over trees and reshaping the land,
Clearing rocks, shifting clay and sand.

Chorus
Take the old D6 when there’s a job to do,
Solid tracks, powering through,
It’s diesel and gears, it’s rollers and oil,
No matter the problem, we fix it all.

Verse 1
Green grass is here, the snow’s all gone,
We hook up the harrow, the race is on,
A year’s worth of horse poop, rake and spread
Job must be done before the grass is all dead.

Chorus
Ten rows of spikes, all in a line,
Held together with hay wire and baler twine,
It held for thirty years, it’ll do thirty more,
With the harrow, raking’s no longer a chore.

Verse 2
Hook up the horse, stay out of the bite,
Drive the horse, get it done right,
We work as a team, human and horse,
Till the field’s all done, a real power-force.

Chorus
Ten rows of spikes, all in a line,
Held together with hay wire and baler twine,
It held for thirty years, it’ll do thirty more,
With the harrow, raking’s no longer a chore.

Verse 3
When time is tight, we hook up the truck,
To pull the harrow and spread the muck,
Driving round and round the field,
Till all is clear and our hard work yields.

Chorus
Ten rows of spikes, all in a line,
Held together with hay wire and baler twine,
It held for thirty years, it’ll do thirty more,
With the harrow, raking’s no longer a chore.

Verse 4
When there’s a big job needs doin’,
The big harrow with railway spikes rattlin’
On big metal bars is ready to turn,
No rock in the ground will be left unturned.

Chorus
Ten rows of spikes, all in a line,
Held together with hay wire and baler twine,
It held for thirty years, it’ll do thirty more,
With the harrow, raking’s no longer a chore.

Verse 1
When the snow gets too deep,
We fire up the snowmobile to keep,
Checking trails and finding tracks,
The snowmobile’s got our backs.

Chorus
Fire up the old tough Bravo, it can’t be beat,
A belt and motor that’ll never overheat,
If it won’t run, it’s either gas or electric,
A quick bush fix will do the trick.

Verse 2
We start out slow, the Bravo will teach us right,
Learn to drive in the back field, not out of sight,
Turn left and right, see how much power,
Bravo makes us an expert in half an hour.

Chorus
Fire up the old tough Bravo, it can’t be beat,
A belt and motor that’ll never overheat,
If it won’t run, it’s either gas or electric,
A quick bush fix will do the trick.

Verse 3
When snow has closed the roads,
The snowmobile still goes,
Wildlife counts, we check for tracks,
Finding where the wildlife live out back.

Chorus
Fire up the old tough Bravo, it can’t be beat,
A belt and motor that’ll never overheat,
If it won’t run, it’s either gas or electric,
A quick bush fix will do the trick.

Verse 4
If you fall off the snowmobile, be careful,
You might have to chase it, ever powerful,
If the idle’s set too high, off it goes,
By itself, cutting through the snow.

Chorus
Fire up the old tough Bravo, it can’t be beat,
A belt and motor that’ll never overheat,
If it won’t run, it’s either gas or electric,
A quick bush fix will do the trick.

Verse 1
Manual transmission is really the best,
In tricky spots, no need for a rest,
Four wheel drive with a stick shift,
No electrics to cause a rift.

Chorus
Little Sidekick, a partner by our side,
Like a truck, but half as long and wide,
Like an A.T.V., but a roof when it snows,
Little engine, it just goes and goes.

Verse 2
Small but mighty, sitting low,
It goes where the big trucks can’t go,
Through mud and ice,
It’ll carve out a slice.

Chorus
Little Sidekick, a partner by our side,
Like a truck, but half as long and wide,
Like an A.T.V., but a roof when it snows,
Little engine, it just goes and goes.

Verse 3
In the bush it’s better than an A.T.V.
It won’t flip over, that’s good safety,
Travel in comfort with a roof and a windshield,
For adventures that go beyond the field.

Chorus
Little Sidekick, a partner by our side,
Like a truck, but half as long and wide,
Like an A.T.V., but a roof when it snows,
Little engine, it just goes and goes.

Verse 1
Motor bigger than some cars,
Without this saw, we’d never get far,
The longer the bar, the safer it gets,
We can’t live without it yet.

Chorus
Old Husky chainsaw, pull the cord,
Rev it up and the job is floored,
Bar oil and mixed gas, bar wrench and file,
Sharpen the chain, keeps it cutting for a while.

Verse 2
On the logging site, it falls the trees,
Cutting through thick bark with ease,
Then on the landing, bucking and limbing,
With this saw, the logs keep coming.

Chorus
Old Husky chainsaw, pull the cord,
Rev it up and the job is floored,
Bar oil and mixed gas, bar wrench and file,
Sharpen the chain, keeps it cutting for a while

Verse 3
Winter’s coming, logs dragged in,
The chainsaw knows where to begin,
Sawdust flyin’, blue smoke pourin’,
Logs in the woodshed, ready for burnin’.

Chorus
Old Husky chainsaw, pull the cord,
Rev it up and the job is floored,
Bar oil and mixed gas, bar wrench and file,
Sharpen the chain, keeps it cutting for a while.

Verse 4
Out in the bush, packed on the horse,
That’s how we cut trail, of course,
Clearing the way, deadfall all done,
Another clear trail is won.

Chorus
Old Husky chainsaw, pull the cord,
Rev it up and the job is floored,
Bar oil and mixed gas, bar wrench and file,
Sharpen the chain, keeps it cutting for a while.

Verse 1
Fall rolls around and the hay truck’s here,
Soon there’ll be a herd of horses near,
Tractor pulls up and unloads it quick,
Bale from the top and bottom, front and back.

Chorus
Loader on one end, backhoe on the other,
Extra-power button when the trail is tougher,
Case 580 tractor, old and strong,
Keeps it simple, you can’t go wrong.

Verse 2
All winter long, the tractor puts out hay,
Feeds the horses, night and day,
One week, three bales, hay nets on,
The tractor’s still going strong.

Chorus
Loader on one end, backhoe on the other,
Extra-power button when the trail is tougher,
Case 580 tractor, old and strong,
Keeps it simple, you can’t go wrong.

Verse 3
Checking the water intake and its full of mud,
Here comes the tractor with a clunk and a thud,
Clears out the mud, lets the water run again,
We’ll have water through sun and rain.

Chorus
Loader on one end, backhoe on the other,
Extra-power button when the trail is tougher,
Case 580 tractor, old and strong,
Keeps it simple, you can’t go wrong.

Verse 4
Stuck in the mud, the tractor has a trick,
With the backhoe it gets out real quick,
Stretch out the bucket, in reverse gear,
Pull with the bucket and soon it’s clear.

Chorus
Loader on one end, backhoe on the other,
Extra-power button when the trail is tougher,
Case 580 tractor, old and strong,
Keeps it simple, you can’t go wrong.

Verse 1
Check the gas, top up the oil,
Turn the key and hear it roar,
Warm it up while the dogs get ready,
Out for a run, sure and steady.

Chorus
All terrain vehicle, cruising the land,
It’s an A.T.V., always at hand,
Quick to fix, out in the dust,
No electric and no rust.

Verse 2
The dogs howl and bark,
Ready to run before it gets dark,
Down the logging road, wind in their faces,
Racing the A.T.V., setting their paces.

Chorus
All terrain vehicle, cruising the land,
It’s an A.T.V., always at hand,
Quick to fix, out in the dust,
No electric and no rust.

Verse 3
Little A.T.V. goes where big trucks can’t go,
Race up the logging road until it snows,
Summer adventures with dogs along,
Barking, howling, running strong.

Chorus
All terrain vehicle, cruising the land,
It’s an A.T.V., always at hand,
Quick to fix, out in the dust,
No electric and no rust.

Chorus
All terrain vehicle, cruising the land,
It’s an A.T.V., always at hand,
Quick to fix, out in the dust,
No electric and no rust.

Verse 1
Old logging roads, far from home,
That’s where old Suburbans roam,
No electrics to go wrong with a load,
We fix it on the side of the road.

Chorus
Roll ‘em down the hill or set ‘em on fire,
We’ll fix ‘em with a hammer and hay wire,
Dented roofs, crooked hoses can’t stop a Suburban,
Spare tire, jump wires and wrenches, fixes are certain.

Verse 2
When trucks work hard, the starter’s gonna go,
And you’ve just gotta fix it even in the snow,
We changed a starter in mud and ice,
In parking lots, we did it twice.

Chorus
Roll ‘em down the hill or set ‘em on fire,
We’ll fix ‘em with a hammer and hay wire,
Dented roofs, crooked hoses can’t stop a Suburban,
Spare tire, jump wires and wrenches, fixes are certain.

Verse 3
When the starter wouldn’t quit,
We cut the wires and that was it,
Rewire the system and touch two wires,
The truck starts by hand, no need to retire.

Chorus
Roll ‘em down the hill or set ‘em on fire,
We’ll fix ‘em with a hammer and hay wire,
Dented roofs, crooked hoses can’t stop a Suburban,
Spare tire, jump wires and wrenches, fixes are certain.

Verse 1
Make hay while the sun shines, they say,
The tractor’s ready to cut and rake the hay,
Leave it out to dry, then bale it up,
Hot summer days, the tractor won’t give up.

Old red International, built to last,
Still going strong, a blast from the past,
Tractor with a PTO shaft, hook up what you need,
For farming and ranching and animal feed.

Verse 2
Tractor rotavates the garden, breaks up the soil,
Then we can plant our potatoes with less toil,
Round and round it goes, turning the ground,
Till everything is ready, rich and brown.

Chorus
Old red International, built to last,
Still going strong, a blast from the past,
Tractor with a PTO shaft, hook up what you need,
For farming and ranching and animal feed.

Verse 3
Tractor with the post-hole auger spinning,
Drills the ground and we’re winning,
Three foot holes ready and round,
Drop in the post and tamp the ground

Chorus
Old red International, built to last,
Still going strong, a blast from the past,
Tractor with a PTO shaft, hook up what you need,
For farming and ranching and animal feed.
